Trip Overview

This classic adventure to the Annapurna Jomsom trek explores the tremendous diversity of the Annapurna region following the old trade route to Tibet along the bank of the Kali Gandaki. Our Jomsom Trek route takes you from Pokhara valley to the famed Poon Hill for the best sunrise view on Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges through the beautiful Himalayan settlements and lust forest. Your visit to Kagbeni, the entrance gate of Mustang: the Once Forbidden Kingdom with the arid land of beauty against the backdrop of majestic mountains before ascending to the famous pilgrimage site at Muktinath adds the charm in your trip to Annapurna.

Situated North of the Annapurna Himal on the Tibetan border, Mustang is a rugged mysterious arid and haunting wilderness region set amid a lunar landscape of wind eroded hills and cliffs.

 

Detail Itinerary

Day 01: Upon arrival in Kathmandu: 

You will be met by our representative and transferred to your hotel in a private vehicle and briefed about your trekking program and the equipment’s you will require during the trekking period and other important aspects related to trekking and introduction with your trekking guide and in the evening dinner in a typical Nepali Restaurant with traditional cultural dance show

Day 02: Drive Kathmandu – Pokhara: (200km / 6 hrs.)

Today after breakfast you drive west to Pokhara. The drive will take you around six hours and on the way you can enjoy beautiful landscapes and rural villages of Nepal, and you drive along the course of Trisuli River On reaching Pokhara check in to your hotel in Lakeside. The rest of the day is at your leisure and you can do anything of your interest. Overnight in Hotel pokhara .

Day 03 Pokhara Fly to Jomsom Trekking to Kagbeni – 2850m

Today after breakfast you transfer to Pokhara Airport and fly to Jomsom by morning flight and after 26 minutes flight you will reach Jomsom at 2730m and proceed from Jomsom to Kagbeni, the trail is very easy along the Kaligandaki river valley and you stop for lunch at Ekle Bhatti. After 3 to 4 hours walk from Jomsom you will reach Kagbeni which is a very old & beautiful Tibetan settlement which is on the border between upper Mustang & lower Mustang. You will see unimaginable and very interesting kinds of old houses in Kagbeni. Lots of prayer wheels, prayer flags, stupas & monasteries can be seen in Kagbeni. Dinner & overnight stay in Kagbeni.

Day 04 Kagbeni Trekking Muktinath – 3700m:

Today after breakfast you proceed to Muktinath from Kagbeni. It is an approximately 4 hours 30 minutes easy uphill walk to Muktinath from Kagbeni and the area is alpine desert. You stop for Lunch at Jharkot which is at 3500m and you reach Muktinath within 1 or 2 hours from Jharkot. Muktinath is a very famous pilgrimage center for buddhists and hindus. You can see Mt. Dhaulagiri, Tukuche, Nilgiri, Tibetan Mountains, & many other Mt. Annapurna Himalaya Ranges from Muktinath.In Muktinath you can observe the temples, monasteries and other interesting sights. Dinner & overnight stay.

Day 05 Muktinath back trekking to Marpha – 2665m:

Today after breakfast you proceed to Marpha from Muktinath. It is around 5 hours easy walk for about 1 or 2 hours you walk downhill then you walk along the river bed and lunch at Jomsom. After around 2 hours 3o minutes walk from Jomsom you reach Marpha. Dinner & overnight stay.

Day 06 Marpha trekking to Kalopani – 2560m: 

Today after breakfast you proceed to Kalopani from Marpha. It is 5 or 6 hours walk along the river bed to Kalopani from Marpha. It is an easy going trail to Tukuche at 2590m, Larjung at 2560 and Khobang, then the trail goes little uphill and then downhill walk passing through beautiful forests and walking along the river, you come to another village and from here it is a very easy going trail, you cross the bridge and reach Kalopani. Mt. Dhaulagiri and Mt. Annapurna 1 can be seen from a very close range from Kalopani. Dinner & overnight stay.

Day 07 Kalopani trekking to Tatopani – 1189m: 

Today after breakfast you proceed to Tatopani from Kalopani. It is around 7 hours walk from Kalopani to Tatopani, the trail goes all the way downhill along the river and you have lunch at Rupshe Chhahara. After lunch you walk for another 3 hours 30 minutes to reach Tatopani and on arriving Tatopani you enjoy a hot bath in a natural hot spring on the bank of Kaligandaki which is believed to cure your diseases if you take a bath here. Dinner & overnight stay.

Day 08 Tatopani trekking to Galeshore – 1050m drive back to pokhara: 

Today after breakfast you proceed to Baiseri or Galeshore from Tatopani. It takes around 4 hours walk and the trail is very easy and gradual downhill walk along the river and you reach Galeshore. where we have hot lunch with fresh fish items from river.After lunch walk around 30 minutes to get to Beni Bazar where our vehicle will be waiting for us and our trekking ends here with beautiful memories. Now drive back to pokhara enjoy dinner in one of the many restaurants available in lakeside as per your choice.Overnight in hotel.

Day 09: Pokhara rest day and city tour: 

Early in the morning drive to Sarangkot, this is a 40mins, drive. Sarangkot is famous for Sunrise and Mountain views and you can enjoy the spectacular views of Fishtail and Annapurna ranges from here. After a warm drink drive back to Hotel and after breakfast you will visit the following places.

Mountain Views: 

Pokhara is the only place in the world from where one can enjoy the magnificent views of mountains having elevation above 8000m while sitting below 1000m above sea level. Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, Manaslu and machhapuchhre can be seen from pokhara. After breakfast, half day sightseeing tour of Pokhara city covering:

Phewa Lake: 

One of Nepal’s most beautiful spots, Phewa Tal is surrounded by a combination of monkey-filled forests and the high white peaks. Hire a boat and row yourself across the lake.

Seti Gandaki: 

Seti Gandaki and Seti Gorge are other two important places to visit in Pokhara. The Seti gandaki flows right through the city, it runs completely underground at many places. There is a local myth that the entire land of Pokhara floats on the Seti River, Barahi Temple: The Barahi temple is the most important monument in Pokhara. Built almost in the center of Phewa Lake, this two-storyed pagoda is dedicated to the boar manifestation of’ Ajima, the protecters deity representing- the female force Shakti.

The Old Bazaar:

Pokhara’s traditional bazaar is colorful in its temples and monuments can be seen ties to the Newar architecture of the Kathmandu Valley.The old bazaar is also home to one of Pokhara’s most important shrines’. Locally called the Bindhyabasini Mandir. Tonight you will enjoy dinner in one of the finest restaurant available. Overnight in Hotel.

Day 10: Drive back to Kathmandu upon arrival in Kathmandu free time for personal activities

 

Day 11: Today in Kathmandu you will visit the following places.

Bouddhanath:

Bouddhanath is among the largest stupa in south Asia, and it has become the focal point of Tibetan Buddhism in Nepal. The white mound looms thirty-six meters overhead. The stupa is located on the ancient trade route to Tibet. When refugees entered Nepal from Tibet in the 1950s, many of them decided to live around Bouddhanath.

Patan City:

Patan Durbar Square complex, situated in the center of Patan city, also known as Lalitpur houses the residence of the former Patan royal family. Patan Square and its surroundings is good specimen of ancient Newari architecture. Several multi-sized and multi-styled temples occupy the western part of the complex. Main among these is Krishna Temple, Bhimsen Temple and the Golden Temple of Hiranya Varna.

Shopping: 

In the Late afternoon free time for shopping and personal activities and in the evening enjoy a farewell dinner in a typical Nepali cultural restaurant with cultural dance.

Day 12: End of your Nepal Tour. Transfer to airport in a private car for your final departure to your destination
